cat labour

my cat gave birth to her first kitten at 5:45 am on 14th of july then another at 8:15 then waited till 7:45 to deliver another 4 today she has came out for a fuss and i can still feel a kitten sized lump in her stomach its now the 16th is this normal and what shall i do

It  would be very un-usual to have remaining kittens within the uterus after this period of time,and if this was the case, you should get her to the vets ASAP.


The other possibility would be the swollen uterus, which in time reduces post labour, or mammary tissue..either way i would recommend a veterinary examination to confirm or otherwise, as, if the swelling in her abdomen is a kitten it WILL cause life threatening problems . contact us on 01902 731127 to arrange a vet examination.
